Python 2.7 for iOS App Reviews

I am a blind programmer and use the voiceover feature to navigate my iPhone. I was very excited to have come across such a convenient app--I can work on my Python projects away from my computer! Unfortunately, I quickly found that, like so many other iPhone applications, Python for iOS is inaccessible (i.e., unusable) to blind users. I cannot get the interpreter to work properly, and it seems that the screen reader isnt picking up several controls/menus. I would love to see this app become more accessible to disabled users. Until then, though, 1/5 stars.

This app is great. It is a fully functional Python IDE that allows to to perfectly run my work scripts from my iPad. Also has Python Docs readily available. After testing many apps for executing Python on iPad, this one takes the cake.

The app is a really great start, and I love the interactive interpreter, but the editor is absolutely unusable. Once a script has surpassed 30 or 40 lines, I cant touch the screen lest I risk causing it to crash. Obviously this makes writing a script of any substance phenomenally difficult. As I said, the interpreter is still really useful, and its better than any other python app Ive looked at, but the app as a whole needs some huge stability improvements.

Itd be my most used iPad app if it had a few modules.

Extremely unreliable. Useless for real work. Crashes frequently, and sometimes rebooting iOS is the only way to get it running again.

Was working but crashes on launch now. Not good enough..

It works, but the lack of debugging and the lack of Git or Mercurial support leave a lot to be desired.

Im a physicist learning python and its nice to have this on the go. Its very nice to have the extra keys on top for symbols, etc.

This is a really well thought out app.

Not a very stable app. Constantly crashes. Looks like support may have been abandoned. I really love the features of the app & wish it was usable.

On iPad (first gen) I tried to load a demo script and now it crashes when I try to restart the app. I got around a minute of use. OK, maybe its because iPad is first gen. On iPhone 4s I was able to try a couple scripts before it broke. I got around 10 minutes use on my iPhone. I cant see why this is worth paying for. Pfft.

The app is not usable on iPad with iOS 7.0.2. It crashes every time after about 20 seconds.

This app is unusable and crashes upon opening. Its too bad, in light of all the code learning thats going on. My advice is to learn from a more reliable app and dont waste your money unless this is fixed.

Working on MITOCW 6.01 Intro to EECS. This little app made it possible to do all the Python work on my iPad 2, without having to update to iOS7. Thanks!

The app is pretty good when it is functioning. It is a pretty well designed Python IDE but I have had it for a month now and I have yet to finish a session without it crashing, and I am not sitting down for hours long coding sessions just getting in some code during lunch and breaks. Not worth buying. Would be five stars if it didnt crash continuously.

Just started using this app and so far its great! Intuitive interface, allows saving and reloading of your own scripts and functions, nice big interpreter screen. It is actually two interpreters, one without an editor( where you can only save the session and then reset the interpreter), and another where you can edit, save, resave, and run previous scripts,functions,etc.. The more I use it the more I like it!

I read a lot of negative comments before buying this app, and all I can say is that this app fully met all my expectations. Its not by any means a desktop interpreter. But if I may remind my fellow reviewers this is an ipad app

Crashes every time I open it. I would like my $2.00 back please.

I want to love this app. I really do. But I frequently get false math errors when running scripts. At first I thought it was just me, but Ive literally run the same code 3 or 4 times and it finally runs the math correctly. Would only recommend this if absolutely nothing else will do.

I expected this app to be good a computer version but I was far off, first off this app crashes every 2 minutes and it is very buggy, even on the latest iOS Version it crashes, EVEN WHEN YOU TRY TO ASK THEM TO SEND THE CRASH REPORT! I would prefer to get Codea far over this piece of junk, deleting right away.
